Place and heritage
Why the ground beneath this college matters: a heritage of faith, a countryside of fields and rivers, and a calm that suits study.
Kherajkhat Mouza is held in affection across Assam as the birthplace of Sri Sri Madhabdev, the great Vaishnavite saint and reformer. To study here is to study on ground that carries a long tradition of learning, devotion and community life. The college takes its name from this place and draws a quiet sense of purpose from it.
The campus sits among fields and village settlements rather than in a crowded town. That distance from the noise of a city is part of the college's character. Students come here to concentrate, and the surroundings support that concentration.
The countryside
The Brahmaputra valley shapes daily life here, from the rhythm of the paddy season to the wide horizon that opens beyond the classroom windows.
Farms and village communities surround the campus, and many students come from them.
The great river and its tributaries define the geography and the seasons of the district.
Space and quiet give students the conditions that serious study asks for.
The campus lies along National Highway 15, roughly 45 km from the district headquarters and about 10 km from Narayanpur town. Road and rail links keep the college within reach of the whole district, so a student need not lose the advantages of a wider world in order to enjoy the calm of this one.
